It's hard to avoid your ex, or any lingering feelings, when you live in a small town like Sweet River.
Sophia Rogers moves back to town the day before Christmas, after eight years away. And, of course, runs into her childhood sweetheart, Jordan Silk, minutes after her suitcase hits the pavement.
And again, on New Years Eve. And again, when they both find themselves at their favorite old spots. And again, and again.
Over the year that follows, Sophia starts to realize, it's not that life keeps throwing them back together-- it's that she never wants it to pull them apart again. Getting a second chance with your first love is rare as snow in December in their small town in Texas, but that doesn't stop Sophia's heart from hoping, it doesnβt seem to stop Jordan from reaching back for her either.

I love Becca Joβs books. She has such realistic characters. It doesnβt feel like youβre reading a book, but instead someoneβs love story unfold in front of you. Even in this short novella, Sophia and Jordan both displayed real, raw emotions, character development and motivations. The only thing I would say is that it felt like the ending was a little rushed. The entire bookβs timelines lead up to this one event and when the timeline caught up to the present, I wanted more details.
Read if you love:
π Single POV
π Dual timeline
π Friends to Lovers
π Second Chance
π Christmas
π Cozy stories
Please note: This eARC was given to me by the author, but the review is honest and entirely my own opinion.
