About
With over six years in graphic design and four years of assistant work, Solar Stories will confidently serve as work you can trust.
Transforming Indie Books
Independently publishing a book takes a lot of work. First, you have to write it, which can take months (unless you’re one of those writing wizards who can write a book in a month), then you have to find a cover designer, editor, proofreader, etc. And then you have to market it. Doing all of that, and managing your kids, is a lot of work. Solar Stories exists to help Indie Author Christian Mamas by taking care of the “behind the scenes” tasks so they can do the hard work of writing, and important work of caring for their families.
Behind the Name
Christians are called to be the salt and the light (Matthew 5:13-16). And in a world where books with inappropriate content are best sellers, it’s important to stand apart. The name Solar Stories serves as a reminder and an encouragement to Christians.
Meet Anna
Hey Friends, I’m Anna, Author of Raw Stories that Always End in a HEA.
With experience as both an author and an executive assistant, I saw a need in the indie author community. Because let’s be honest, writing a book takes a long time, but so does marketing. I wanted to help fill the gap between them. There are so many great Indie books, and so many hardworking mamas out there that need an extra hand.
For as long as I can remember, I have been a lover of stories. I’ve even kept journals and letters from as early as second grade. Telling stories is second-nature. And I just happen to be one of the lucky few in which organizing is also second-nature.
I grew up in sunny Florida (and miss it everyday), but now reside in Louisville, Kentucky with my husband, our two kids, and our dog. My husband and I got married at the young age of twenty in 2017. I graduated from the Baptist College of Florida (now known as The Baptist University of Florida) with a B.A. in Psychology in 2019. In 2020, we moved to Louisville and then bought our first house in 2021. After struggling with infertility for several years, we were overjoyed to welcome our daughter into the world in 2022 and then our son in 2024.
I struggled with prenatal depression while pregnant with our daughter–it was like a fog lifted after I gave birth. Before getting pregnant, I had all but given up on reading. I couldn’t find anything that was well-written and clean. And, sort of on a whim, I created a bookstagram account. It unlocked something spectacular! I was finding amazing authors who shared my worldview and also valued the importance of God-honoring books, even if they don’t fall into the category of “Christian fiction.”
After seeing other mamas succeed in balancing writing and mom life, I thought I would try it out–how hard could it be? My sister and I collaborated and released The Adventures of Ash: Ash Learns to Roll in the spring of 2023. My first edition of my poetry collection, Hues of the Heart: Look for Yellow, released in the fall of 2023. These books, though far from perfect, helped me learn the process and procedures of independently publishing and gave me the confidence I needed to pursue writing and publishing my first novel, Seas the Day.
